Blood Flow Restriction Training
BFR is the act of safely restricting venous blood flow from a working muscle, but allowing arterial blood flow to that working muscle. This is done primarily with low intensity resistance training. Since the ability of that blood to escape is dramatically reduced, metabolic stress and cellular swelling are greatly increased. As a result, increased growth hormone, muscle hypertrophy, and muscle strength occur. the patient can begin rehab much sooner, regain their strength to prevent atrophy, and ultimately get them back to functioning in a fraction of the traditional time.
Manual therapy at Therazona Physical Therapy is a clinical approach utilizing specific hands-on techniques, including mobilization, used by the physical therapist to diagnose and treat soft tissues and joint structures for the purpose of modulating pain; increasing range of motion (ROM); reducing or eliminating soft tissue inflammation; inducing relaxation; improving contractile and non-contractile tissue repair, extensibility, and/or stability; facilitating movement; and improving function.
We have a variety of techniques and tools that can be used during this course of treatment such as; Dry Needling, Cupping, IATYM, Myofascial Release, Mobilization with Movement and Flossing.
Sport Specific Video Analysis
The vast majority of sports injuries are related to how you're moving. Having muscle imbalances or restrictions can affect your movement during sport, leading to injury over time. These movements can be subtle and often times, unable to be seen with the naked eye. We use slow motion video analysis and thorough evaluation to assess body mechanics, muscle activation patterns and sport-specific movements in order to better identify imbalances, physical limitations and muscle weaknesses. This allows us to get to the root cause of your injury in order to get you better, faster.
